Reading.
I'm due to take the bus drivers test on the highway code and all sorts of other tests. i.e. drivers hours regulations, hazard perception test.
I've been reading all day, and doing an on-screen test for hazard perception.
My head is spinning. I've been at it all day, except for time to eat and clean the house. So please forgive me.
It's a 'Must not fail' situation here.
It's the job I want, with the company I want to drive for, so heads down and work.
So much has changed in the last 23 years, yes it's 23 years since I was a bus driver. It's so much harder now, the standard expected is so high.
So, it's work, work, work till I'm good enough. I think I have about 2 weeks to get up to speed. Then the tests. That's before you even get in to the cab just to drive round the depot.
Then it will be 4 weeks driver training, that should be a bit easier having drove buses for 11 years. But I'm not taking that for granted.
So after a hard day reading, testing myself I'm off to bed.
I do have more to say but I need some sleep.
Good night.
